CAADPE educates the public about the need for quality substance use disorder and co-ocurring mental disorder treatment services to meet the needs of the community. Our goal is to provide a means to protect the future of drug and alcohol treatment programs in California and provide information for those seeking treatment.

Letter from CAADPE President expresses concern of 1115 Waiver

In a letter to David Maxwell-Jolly, Director of the California State Department of Health Care Services, CAADPE President Al Senella expressed his concern and dissappointment over the exclusion of Substance Use Disorder Services in the 1115 waiver application. Read Letter

Additional content, including a series of fact sheets on how the new health reform law will help communities of color, can be viewed here.


Senate Democrats Propose to Eliminate ADP

Senate Democrats and State Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg have announced a restructuring plan that completely eliminates the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs. The restructuring plan also proposes to give state counties the money to run programs concerning public safety and health services, including substance use disorder treatment.
