Dear Colleague:

The California Association of Alcohol and Drug Program Executives, Inc. (CAADPE) is a powerful voice in the alcohol and drug field. CAADPE addresses pending public policies that affect your agencies and your clients. CAADPE represents the best thinking of the field in the State Capitol and in Congress, and in the offices of regulators.  We invite you to join us. 

Today, our field is at an important juncture that will require every provider in the state to stand up and be counted.  Without a strong and unified voice, our field cannot make an impact on the regulations and funding decisions that loom ahead. In the coming year, CAADPE must take the lead on several issues that will affect our agencies and our clients for decades to come: licensing and certification; funding and reforms of Proposition 36; health insurance; and prison reform as it relates to in-custody AOD treatment, community aftercare, and relocation of non-violent offenders into small community-based residential centers.   

Fewer than one-fourth of the licensed agencies in California have carried the ball for all providers since 1989 when CAADPE opened its Sacramento advocacy office.  Now is the time for you to join with others around the state so that the AOD voice remains strong and unified.    

We have a challenging year ahead of us! I look forward to your active participation in CAADPE!
